Conventional Analysis Section

In this unit, chemical analysis of various minerals and mineral-derived metals and non-metal samples are carried out mainly by adopting the conventional method (Gravimetric/Volumetric method). Required available for said test work

Equipment like E-Balance, Drying Oven, Muffle Furnace, Hotplate, Volumetric glasses, and Titrometry method are used to provide the result of complete analysis to the customer.

The following types of geological samples are tested in this unit-

Limestone, Dolomite, Magnesite

Iron ore (Haematite, Magnetite)

Silicate rocks

Copper ore

Granite

The instruments used for the conventional analysis of the samples are-

Drying Oven:

Sample Drying: To avoid unnecessary moisture, drying is done in the oven at 105°C ± 5°C for an hour

Digital Balance: Analytical Balance with 4 digit numbers (0.0000 g) is designed to measure small mass (0.1 mg) in the milligram range.

Muffle Furnace: To ignite the sample at the temperature of 1000C in the Muffle Furnace

Digital Hotplate: To heat the sample up to 250°C and complete the digestion and baking process.

Volumetric Glassware: Pipette 1 to 50 ml, Burette 50 ml, Volumetric flask 250, 500 ml, conical flask 250 ml, beaker 200, 400, 500 ml etc. used for filtration process, titration process, and making solution.
