Mineral Economic Study & Promotion Section

The main jobs of the Mineral Economic Study Promotion Section are:

  • To ascertain whether the mineral reserves are economically and technically viable.
  • Prepare a data package to promote the mineral deposit if it is suitable from the economic, social, technical, and environmental points of view.
  • On the basis of exploration, those who have initial follow-up exploration will be promoted for exploration and those who have completed detailed exploration will be promoted according to the annual program.
  • Based on the results obtained from the exploration activities conducted by the department, determining the beneficial mineral reserves in terms of quality and quantity, and evaluating the mineral reserves.
  • After evaluating the mineral reserves that are beneficial in terms of quality and quantity, recommend adopting the process under the specific mineral and sending it to the Mineral Economic Study and Promotion Branch.
  • If it is not suitable for promotion or if further exploration is required, it will be sent back to the Mineral Exploration Branch.
