Mineralogy Gemology Section jobs:

  • Making arrangements to keep the collected samples of various minerals and rocks in the museum.
  • Providing petrological and mineralogical testing services of mineral and rock samples.
  • To provide laboratory services to increase the value of precious and semi-precious stones.
  • Making arrangements for manpower development and technology expansion to increase the value of minerals.
  • There is 1 mineralogical and gemological laboratory and 1 geological museum under this branch

In relation to the system of recommending the extraction of mineral substances (except in the case of mineral processing).

  • In order to get a recommendation for the export of rock and sediment samples abroad for study and research work, the customer has to draw a ticket of Rs 10 and submit an application to the Director General with the documents and details as per the details
  • The export should be for educational and research purposes only. The application should also clearly state the need for research, the purpose, and the reason for exporting abroad.
  • Study permit/declaration from any recognized prestigious university of Nepal and related institutes (research institutes and labs) abroad.
  • If such a person is a foreigner, a copy of his/her passport should be attached.
  • An MOU with the Department of Mines and Geology or any recognized university should also be submitted. If the application is received in this way, the customer will be charged Rs. 5000.- The recommendation will be given by the department after filing the recommendation fee.
  • The service will be provided until the next day after the process is completed and the sample is received.
