Trace Element Analysis Section

This lab is conducting quantitative analysis of heavy elements like Fe, Cu, Au, Pb, Zn, etc. in rock, soil, sediments, etc. That is a supplemental test as well as independent with respect to the conventional analysis.

Instruments Available

i. AAS SHIMADZU 7000 model

Atomic Absorption Spectrometry to measure heavy trace elements in parts per million (ppm) concentrations.

ii. ICP – MS  Agielent  7800 model

Inductive Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer for trace elements, including more than 50 elements above Atomic number 12 in parts per billion (ppb) concentrations.

iii.XRF Bruker S2 Ranger  

X-ray Fluorescence for major element oxides in percentage.
